Why It's Okay To Sing In French (For An English-speaking Artist)

I've been around anglophones who grew up and/or lived in the francophone zone of the country, and they speak more French than English. So it's just natural for the artists among them to sing in French and English too (or in complete French at times).
Now talking about those who didn't grow up there and decide to learn a few #franc-anglais phrases to drop on a song, if the music comes to them that way, them massa sing to your heart's fill. It's true they do it mostly to get the francophone zone on their side, but who doesn't want to?!
In a recent blog interview, Tzy Panchak called them cowards, likening them to "... A chief who speaks to his people in a language they don't understand". Well I think if that's the case, the "people" should learn the "chief's" language too! Did you ever complain when Céline Dion sings in English being a francophone Canadian, or Sergeo Polo and Kareyce Fotso singing in Douala when they are from the Western Region or Shakira singing in English when she's Lebanese/Columbian?
They say in English, nothing rhymes with orange, but in Cameroon, we have French and over 200 vernaculars- try one of those... Sometin must kumutt! .
We shouldn't be striving to be the best Anglophones or the best Francophones, but we should work towards being the best
Cameroonians we can be.
It's a 237 thing! That's just how Kamer Rocks!
